Golden Dance Awards Scotland JUDGES

My name is Ljay Halliday. I’m a Scottish Dancer and creative. I am a graduate of the Urdang Academy, London. where I was a full scholarship recipient. I’m also a proud recipient of scholarships from; Broadway Dance Centre, New York, La Luna dance centre, Italy aswell as The Institute Of The Arts Barcelona. I’ve been so lucky to perform worldwide. Including performing for the Royal Family of Bahrain, closing Paris fashion week in the Louis Vuitton Foundation and performing in Los Angeles for a Tv show + lots of other events worldwide. I also opened the prestigious Le Calssique de Danse awards as a solo dancer and now on their committee. Some recent jobs have been touring with 301 contemporary company and I’m currently filming a major Marvel movie set to be released next year. 

I choreograph for the top dance colleges in the UK. I’ve had the pleasure to also assist some amazing creatives on various projects over the past years. Last year I also competed on Britain's Got Talent where I placed top 3 in the live shows.  love getting to connect and share the love of dance with everyone around me. Through this Certificate and her Athletic Artist Method, she empowers dance educators to prioritise longevity and well-being without compromising technique.

Nic is incredibly excited to connect with the talent and teachers in the Scottish dance community and is honoured to support the next generation of performers and professionals at the Golden Dance Awards Scotland.

Honey Joseph, originally from Scotland, trained at the Urdang Academy before graduating and beginning her career in musical theatre.

Her extensive stage credits include Wicked, Legally Blonde, Moulin Rouge, Hamilton, and she is currently appearing in SIX the Musical in London's West End.

Honey has also worked as a dancer in Disney's Disenchanted, as well as in music videos such as

"Body Loose" by Dizzee Rascal ft. Ella Eyre and Snow

Patrol's "Don't Give In."

Nic Thomson is a former performer with international credits as a dancer and aerialist on world-renowned cruise ships and in shows like 'SWING! The Broadway Musical', having worked alongside global creatives - including an Emmy-nominated choreographer. Transitioning from the stage, Nic earned an MSc in Dance Science & Education and became a UKSCA Accredited Strength & Conditioning Trainer. Driven by a mission to elevate industry standards, she founded the Certificate in Dancer's Injury Prevention & Well-being (SCQF-8) - the only SCQF-credit-rated course by SQA of its kind.

Through this Certificate and her Athletic Artist Method, she empowers dance educators to prioritise longevity and well-being without compromising technique.
